Google Earth vs. Google Map.

Kamangir | August 23, 2005 | Category Iran

In mt last post I advocated the fascinating images produced by Google Earth. I am still on my opinion. For example see the following images of the Nazca lines in Peru. They are magnificent lines of kilometers length, believed to be created by or for extraterrestrial creatures. I always wanted to watch them, and I now I did!

Though, there are three problems with google earth: Many times it leads to fault results. For example search for “Tehran, Iran” or “Bam, Iran”. Also, google earth is so slow. The reason is that when you pass over an area, while you are just searching for somewhere, it tries to retrieve quality images of that area. The third problem with google earth is just missing from my mind. Though, if you are not fond of seeing the height of places (which is many times so much interesting!) use google map.

    Hi All Experts,
Does anyone use google earth images as ground image planes for use in aerial scenes. I know how to stitch them together but are there any tools or tricks to make sure that the images are at the same height, angle and such to make sure they stitch well. I know in the pro version you can get bigger images but im not going to pay for the pro version when i could stitch multiple images together…
