Statistics of Access to a Cleric, Updated

Kamangir | November 21, 2005 | Category Iran

These statistics are from here. I am trying to compare the visitor/question of different categories. It is interesting that most frequently visited category is the new-problems one. It contains question like “can I watch pornography and may I act like them” and the answer is “do not see it but do it” (see). Another interesting point is that questions about prayers or fasting are down the list. Now, the question is, what are the key concerns of Muslims now? One reasonable suggestion is that nobody has any problem with his prayers, they want to know about new topics. Another answer could be, these statistics are produced by idiot web-surfers that search every corner of the internet for mature subjects. Maybe. Though, values are interesting, at least to me.

V/Q stands for visitor per question

p.s. This is the result of discussing with Azadeh the material of this post. If this cleric is asked for new subjects about four times more than how often he is asked for traditional religious matters, then how do you think he should manage his time and education. If he spends 1 hour reading those old Islamic books, shouldn’t he spend four hours reading sociology and economy. Or as Azadeh correctly suggests, nobody can be an expert in all these fields, so doesn’t he have to have four new-age consultants for each traditional one he has.
