The Dilemma About Iran
Kamangir | February 13, 2006 | Category Iran

I had always told Mike how tender Iranians are. Also, I had tried to show him examples of Iranian traditions, life style, even nice aspects of Islam and Quran. And I was totally sincere with him in that. Then, after the attacks to the Denmark embassy in Tehran, I could clearly see that he is looking at me in doubt. The question was obviously clear “if Iranians are like what you say, then what is this?” I think that’s an important question many other people would ask, too. Even, Azadeh was once asking, “is this the real Iran?”
I think this picture is showing the whole situations. One man throws stones to the Denmark embassy. Police does not intervene and five journalists take pictures to show the world how violent Iranians are.

There is nothing worst than being have to defend something you really do not agree with. I have the same problem and I have tried to do my best in showing good aspects of my country to the people who honestly do not hear anything but negatives about Iran. At last I realized that I do not have to be responsible for the whole country. We have good and bad people everywhere in the world. I hope people who see Iran from far would consider that and if not that’s too bad!
Dear Anonymous
I do agree with you. I think our essential problem is how to show that Ahmadinejad is not a good representative for Iranians. It is also an important job to show the reasons that the nation elected Ahmadinejad, and I am not ignoring all reports of fraud. That’s the only thing we can do now.
