Trying to Rewrite the History

They have not understood that we are living in the era of information. Or maybe, they think that if they filter BBC in Iran, then they can control the flow of information. The problem, though, is that we are neither living behind the closed walls of the Islamic Republic propaganda system, nor they have a predefined scenario. So, they fail to produce a society like the one described in 1984, and I think they had madly loved to live in one.

A funny sample happened a few months ago when Ahmadinejad talked with a top cleric about the halo which he saw around himself when he was giving speech in the UN (see). Many of us watched the film of the event and played the portion when he talks about the halo over and over. Yet, he and his tribe claim that he did not talk about the halo.

Now, the Islamic Republic has made another funny statement. They claim that the people who attacked Denmark embassy were from western countries and they did so to make a bad picture of Iran (see). Hello! See again how Mehr agency, a government-allied news official source, talks about the event (see). Also, see this from IRNA, the official news agency of the Islamic Republic of Iran, about residents of Tehran attacking Norway embassy with stone and fire (see). Also, see Kayhan, Iran’s official newspaper, about the event (see). Unfortunately, they are all in Persian.

They try to rewrite the history, as they have always did. Sorry, the emperor is obviously naked.

p.s. Ahmedinejad sent a message at the time to the “students and clerics” who had attacked Denmark embassy and asked them to end gathering in front of the embassy (see). That’s what the head of Tehran police expressed, continuing with hope that none of the attackers will remain in jail for the night. He also apologized for any violence from Police to the attackers and stated “if I was not the chief Police, I would have attacked the embassy myself and would have entered even with the risk of injury.”
