Isn’t it interesting to know that the man, who played the role of the Iranian shopkeeper in Crash, actually played a role in Bad Boys II, too. In Crash he gets rubbed and goes to shoot the key man that repaired the door the day before. In Bad Boys the two police men, who are kind of “bad”, and the girl whom they are protecting go to a shop to buy some snack. The shopkeeper sees them having guns and reaches for one of the couple of shotguns he keeps close to the cashier. As they approach him to pay for the snack he points at them and shouts “I will kill you! I am coming from the middle east. I have killed before and I can kill now!” (not exact expressions). After a short while the bad men point at him with four guns, ordering him to put the gun down and tell them how much they should pay for some chips.
I remember the man in Crash, seating at the backyard of his shop, thinking deep about his situation. Actually, I like more to remember him in that shot.
p.s. Isn’t it interesting that I find no picture of the man in premier photos in Yahoo! (see). Also in production photos in Yahoo! (see) and movie’s homepage (see). Oh! his name is Shaun Toub (is it a Persian name?) (see) . In this photo we see him close to Bahar Soomekh, who played his daughter in Crash. She seems to have started his career in the show business with Crash. However, she seems to be veru successful because then she played in Mission Impossible II.
