Holocausts’ Anniversaries

Kamangir | April 25, 2006 | Category Iran

For those who did not know, like myself, today was Holocaust’s memorial day (see). Kamran writes “with sirens whistling loud everything stops for 2 minutes in Israel” (see). I was searching for the event and I found this “the road to Auschwitz was built by hate, but paved with indifference” (see). Nice an Sad. This year two Holocausts’ anniversaries coincided, namely the Jewish Holocaust (see) and the Armenian one (see). The picture shows Iranian Armenian people demonstrating in Tehran to ask for condemnation of Turkey’s central rule in the event.

I’d never even heard of this Armenien holocaust until very recently. I can’t believe how up to a million deaths can just be so easily ignored. It makes me wonder how many more holocausts we have ‘forgotten’.

As an Armenian Iranian, I thank you for remembering the Armenian Genocide. You may also like to visit this bloggers site ( http://hnn.us/blogs/entries/24360.html) for her comment on Armenian Genocide.

It’s true that Armenians in Iran were free to demostrate but officially Iran does not recognize the Genocide day or the Genocide itself, fear of Turkey’s backlash.

Dear Moif, Armenian Genocide was the 20th century first massacre. Hitler actually said this when justifing Jewish holocost, “who remembers Armenians?”..

American public TV just aired an interesting documentry on this subject ..you may want to visit this site to see more: http://www.koce.org/whats.htm

    Dear Moif
My very first impression was exactly like yours. And just think how much hatred exists in the world.
