Empty Pocket, Great Show Off

“According to our sources, more than two billion people celebrated when we announced the progress in nuclear technology” Ahmadinejad stated yesterday during his trip to the Central Province (see). He added “our enemies should not presume that this slogan [that nuclear energy is our definite right] is only shouted by Iranians. Billions of people are announcing that nuclear energy is Iran’s definite right”. He continued “we have very frequently asserted that the Iranian nation is based on a unitarian culture which follows dear Islam. We have no problem with anybody but we will fight for our right”. Then, he began another round of advocating for the Islamic Republic and how other nations envy it. “People of the world are now looking at the Iranian nation as an example.” “The Islamic Republic was an introduction to the human being’s approach to dignity and elevation.” “Everyday we see more people loving the Islamic Republic”.
In another news, BBC claims that the Iranian administration may have used material imported from China to manufacture progress in the nuclear program (see).
There is a Persian proverb that says “empty pocket, great show off” (Persian: جیب خالی پز عالی).
The Nation and Ahmadinejad

Ahmadinejad is having a trip to the Central Province (Markazi Province). He is facing the same kind of passionate people who come to listen to his very simple vocabulary which exactly points at their problems.
Families of martyrs constitute a major group of people who are not very happy with the Iranian administration. Many of them live in poor conditions and blame the government for asking them for their beloved ones and then forgetting them. A group of them also see any tolerance in the society as a blasphemy and a disrespect to “the bloods of the martyrs”. The handwriting reads “Mr Ahmadinejad! I like you as much as I like my martyred son”.
Another target for the simple words of the president is the people disabled in the war. These people also find it hard to cope with their living conditions remembering the sacrifice they have made for the Islamic Republic.

People greeted him in their own style. The Handwritten sheet reads “Welcome, You Beautiful Flower”.
However, we can not forget the sense of humor of the Iranian nation. The middle sheet reads “having opportunities is our definite right”. The second one reads “having opportunities is a sign of justice”.

The nation looks at Ahmadinejad as the one who has come to be there for them and to solve their numerous everyday problems. Can he satisfy them? Is he fighting for the same reason? I am not sure.
Elite Students

Winners of the international olympiads and other elite students met with the parliament speaker, Dr Hadad Adel. I am very eager to see how many of them will stay in Iran to “serve the nation”, specially with Mr Ahmadinejad’s attitude.
