Tehrani Transportation

Kamangir | July 29, 2006 | Category Iran

This picture does not show some toys. With the increasing traffic intensity motorcycles have become a very good means of transportation in Tehran, encapsulating price and speed at once. Another importance of a motorcycle is that its driver is not very much limited by the funny laws of traffic, at least in Tehran.

Its going the other way here. Cars are getting bigger and more expensive than ever before!

But probably they are a bit more organized there. Aren’t they?

Yes, probably, but it doesn’t help very much. The roads have become a lot more dangerous these last few years and I think I’d rather be hit by a small motor bike than an forty ton truck.

We’re also seeing a lot of accidents caused by drunk drivers. Way more than we used to. I’m not sure whats the cause but people here are tired of it and calling for heavier punishments for those who kill because they got drunk and drove.
Denmark has very lenient sentences. A rapist for example usually only gets a couple of years and is often out n good behaviour after eighteen months or so. Its a real problem that the politicians just won’t address.
