Funny Ayatollah
Kamangir | August 31, 2006 | Category Iran

Ahmadinejad is having another trip to Orumieh. His host is Ayatollah Hasani (Persian: آیت الله Øسنی), the man standing at his left. Hasani is the city’s Friday Prayer’s leader. He is known as the funniest Mullah in Iran. Basically, he is ready to make comments about everything. Many of his jokes are only understandable in the context of the Iranian political atmosphere. So, I quote a comment from another, not as much funny as him, Mullah. When talking in the parliament about Iran’s membership in an organization working on Ozone Layer depletion, which is translated in Persian as Ozone Layer hole, the mullah said “this is none of our business. Whoever has made the hole must grab some cement and fix it up”. This was broadcast from the parliament’s live radio channel. Hasani is selected by the supreme leader as his representative in the province. Any comments?

salaam,
Yes!
As an impartial person, I should comment that besides his funny character, he was the one who defenced the Urmia city against the Kurd group which wanted to clean Urmia of Turkish people and combined it to independent Kurdestan! He was the leader who rised and made people to fight for their land. People laugh when they hear his name like me. But an old man in Urmia said this historical event and told me not laugh at him again. However I know that he is not a lettered man and some of his speeches become funny when you translate them to Persian word by word.
Any comment? ;)
Lafcadio,
I understand what you are saying. He has been a great man and has done quite good stuff. Fine and thanks. A good government, to my understanding, will honor him with a medal and then he will write a book. However, in Iran, we put the man who works with a gun much better than using words in a position that he talks and talks and disgraces himself and the rest of the world.
I think we do not know how to appreciate and preserve good things.
I think it is a treasure and honor to have some one so special.I always think idiots are as special as sane ones…particularly him, that you should really work hard to be as stupid as him, i.e. being such a retard requires a high level of effort…it just can’t come natural!
