Iranian Aviation, or Let’s Die for Nothing

ISNA provides a list of accidents in the Iranian aviation after the revolution (see) (thanks Behrang for the link (see)). I think more than any textual information a chart shows what is happening there and what the risks are when you sit in an Iranian airplane. Here, each line shows an incident. I do not think it needs a Ph.D. to find out that things are not having any progress towards safety.

The official justification for this accelerated curve, ignoring the fact that always the pilot is known to be responsible, is the embargo which does not allow buying new planes or having vital parts changed. This is even mentioned in BBC’s report form the accident (see). Still, I am thinking isn’t Iran banned from buying new technologies because many, right or wrong, suspect Iran may use them in armed forces? Who is responsible for this picture?
