MP Groans

Kamangir | September 5, 2006 | Category Iran

The parliament has essentially agreed upon a bill which forces the government to deny any inspection from nuclear facilities in case any limitation is imposed on Iran through UN Security Council (see). National Security and Foreign Affair Commitee’s speaker announced that to the press. He continued “it is mentioned in the introduction of this bill that the Islamic Republic has accepted the international treaties. We are a member of NPT and we have reported to the agency very frequently, including a 1300-page report. … Unfortunately, we have been talked to with an imposing language which always talks about our responsibilities. Our perception is that the international organizations and the super powers are not concerned with the Iranian people’s rights. Actually, they are looking for ways to deny our lawful rights.”

I have no comment on the new decision and the possibility that it may only make everything harder or not. What is interesting to me is the reasoning of the MP. He is at the top of the pyramid of power and still he is groaning “please mind our rights”. Isn’t it obvious that huge organizations, in the size of governments, are not charities?

Persian Lion in Exile

Chicago

Shiraz

Khatami visited the Iranian historical pieces in Oriental Museum, University of Chicago. I love my country and its cultural heritage, but, at the same time, I think the Persian lion would be much safer in “their” museums.

Last visit, 12 August 2007.
