Mullah’s Holy Badge

Kamangir | September 10, 2006 | Category Iran

As a Mullah, you would have special rights, which others do not have. Apart from being trialed in special courts, access to Mullahs’ clothings are strictly controlled by the law. Actually, a harsh sentence for a Mullah is to be banned from wearing the special clothing.

As a sign of having done certain stages in the religious system, Mullah-to-bes are granted their clothings by a superior Mullah. This is how the story begins.

The white bowl-like objects are what is called in Persian Ammameh (Persian: عمامه). It is a very long cloth twisted over itself and turned into that shape which will fit Mullah’s head. These men are listening to a grand Ayatollah, here he is Grand Ayatollah Behjat (Persian: آيت‌الله العظمي بهجت), for advice.

After spending a few hours, deliberating into the speaker’s deep ideas, they gradually prepare for shouldering the responsibility of spreading Islam’s words into people hearts, through giving speech.

So, they come forward, one by one.

And Allah’s Sign, the literal meaning of Ayatollah, pushes the thing down to encompass their brain.

Now that Islam’s future is in powerful hands, the Ayatollah can go home.

Maybe if they were to loosen their عمامه ها they would be able to think more clearly. I mean, that thing has to constrict bloodflow to the brain.

Sarcastic, but kind of true. I agree with you. :)
