   Hello Arash.

   He is being sued for the disappearance, detention, and torture of Iranian Jews. Do you think he is responsible for this? He did not receive a warm reception from the governor, but I think he was the best shot we had at communicating with Iran.

   I am wondering what type of connection he can have to these affairs. Let’s see if they have anything to offer. I am quite sure Jews are treated very bad by the Islamic Republic but at least for this case they are suing him for something hapenning before his term.

   I know that as a new member you can’t start a new thread until you’ve participated in existing threads like the one I linked here, but it sounds like this is a new rule. I hope you do post on that thread. You know more about Khatami and the goings on in Iran than I do!

   Is Khatami allowed to run for president again? There’s been chatter around Washington that he is trying to paint himself as the mullah who can talk to the Americans. School must have started again, you’re posts aren’t as frequent as this summer.

   He is legally allowed to run for presidency. But, I doubt if he is willing to do so. Indeed, he isthe Mullah who can talk not only to the Americans but also to the rest of the world, including Israel.
   Yes, you are right. I have been very busy lately. I am writing these lines from Banff, Alberta.
