Voting Equipment, The Islamic Republic Version

Kamangir | September 20, 2006 | Category Iran

The interior ministry introduced the new generation of voting machines to the reporters. The state-of-the-art piece of equipment replaces the old wooden boxes with fancy plastic containers which have a specific lock on them. Probably the obvious question is why they are not using electronic machines for that purpose.

I was working in a company which designed and built electronic vote counting machines. Their product remained as a prototype because no one wanted to take the risk. Basically, the head of the Islamic Republic consists of people who even like TV if their guy calls the shots there. A network-based voting system is not really a good thing for their lifestyle. Furthermore, an electronic voting system is quite impartial and does not really understand that frequently the “benefits of Islam and the nation” force the authority to slightly, or severely, change the results. What type of artificial intelligence do you think is able to address this vital demand?
