Clergy Salute

Kamangir | November 12, 2006 | Category Iran

For your information, you can salute with an Ammameh (the clergy’s hat)* (see).

*- As I remember, at least in the Iranian army code, you can salute only if you are wearing a military hat.

p.s. Clergy-soldier is another one of the Islamic Republic’s inventions (see).

    Ridiculous!
I’m pretty sure that it was not the same before Islamic revolution.

Can you translate: “مراسم مشترك نظامي نيروهاي مسلح استان سمنان با حضور مقام معظم رهبري”?

Can you please let me know what is wrong with clerics going on military service? now that they’re being equal to ordinary people at least in military service you are making fun of it!

By the way the english for Ammameh is Turban.

And in many countries, sikh’s go to military while keeping their turban, and yes they do salut.

    Vilas,
It says “common military gathering of the forces in the Semnan Province at the presence of the great leader” (not the exact translation).

“now that they’re being equal to ordinary people”, They have always been like others. What makes us even think that they are anything other than an ordinary citizen? Frankly, I think it is funny. It is like they are a different race and can not take off that thing.
