Iran: Leader Plans to Show Up In Qom?

We are all waiting for the Supreme Leader to show up for the Ghadir Eid. For two reasons, I think he is planning to give his speech in Qom. If that happens, it would be an important event, because of choosing the Iranian Vatican over the capital city. Using Ghatreh search engine (see), I found a piece of news published in Mehr, eleven hours ago (see). The post in not available in Mehr any more (I also searched directly in Mehr), but the excerpt given in Ghatreh states,

The head of the Islamic Propaganda Institution in Qom stated, “tomorrow, the great Eid of Ghadir and the anniversary of Qomis uprising [before the revolution], thousands of Qomis will meet with the great supreme leader”.

Ghatreh also found another piece, published three hours ago, in Bright Future News Agency (see), a website close to the religious authority, located in Qom. The piece says,

Revolutionary chants and songs division in the Culture and Islamic Guidance office in Qom province….will perform …. [a revolutionary song] in the presence of the great leader and Qomi people, for the anniversary of Qom uprising and Ghadir Eid…

If you are a conspiracy theorist you can probably argue that the fact that Mehr has deleted the news is strange. Otherwise, you can think of this as an end to the PJM’s “breaking news“. Which one is the case? I am afraid we all have to wait.

Update: IRNA verified the news, stating that 5,000 people will be bussed form Qom to meet with the leader in Tehran.
