All roads lead to Qom? (Updated: 10 Jan.)

Kamangir | January 9, 2007 | Category Iran

While Khameneii is indeed alive, he may not be is his best shape. Harf-e Hesab, almost means “reasonable idea”, posts two pictures of Khameneii, one of which is shown here, and writes,

The news about Iranian leader’s illness were not a rumor

First of all, this is the first time he comes to an indoor auditorium with a tightened scarf. Also, if you look carefully at the images, you can see large drops of sweat on both sides of his forehead. On top of that, his tired face says something.

In another post, he refers to Rafsanjani’s plan to visit Qom (see). He writes,

Rafsanjani is going to have a two-day stay in Qom. After the news about the leader’s illness, this trip can have a special meaning.

Yesterday, Nine Months Ago (what does it mean?)

Alireza Jazayeri seems to oppose to the idea of any illness. He publishes images comparing leader’s face seen yesterday with pictures taken up to nine months ago. In the comments to that post we read,

- This dog is even better than before [names of animals are offensive in Persian].

- Your father is the dog.

Rumor or real, everyone seems to admit that in the event of Khameneii leaving the Iranian political atmosphere, serious changes will take place.

Update: Do read Matthew’s comment.

Update II: his trip was cancelled, because of “a cold” (see).
