An Iranian looking at Iran as a foreigner…

Good Reads

Mahmoud and Hugo

By Kamangir • Jan 15th, 2007 • Category: Iran

Ahmadinejad is having a nice time, chatting with Latino leaders, including the fantastic old friend Hugo Chavez and the newly-found friend Daniel Ortega. They shook hands and had a great time saying strong words against the “imperialists” and other evil forces.

Ahmadinejad even played the role of the great fan of the history of Nicaragua, and its heroes.

Then, Hugo and Mahmoud exchanged books, none of them could read. Hugo gave Mahmoud a book about Khomeini in Spanish and Mahmoud gave him a book on Simon Bolivar in Persian. One of Mahmoud’s aides wrote later, it was like another provincial trip (see).

Update: Thanks Matthew for correcting an embarrassing spelling mistake. :)

  1. Lets give credit where credit is due … A credit to Ahmadinejad for hiring an excellent PR manger .. this guy has hardly stayed in his office more than a week. How can he govern at all? or as we all know, he is truly a puppet. I think, people just elected him to go around taking pictures…Just amazing! Another funny thing is that how can a “real” Muslim break a bread with a Communist? He calls Bush to convert but he does not bother to write the same letter to Chavez.

  2. Yes, and I think first of all he needs Chavez to start with circumcising! :D

Somebody said, “politics makes strange bed-fellows”.
Recently I’ve read that the biggest fans of jihadists are some far-left and far-right movements.
As for Chavez, Ortega & Co., they have the same “enemy” ….bad, baaaaad, West and the USA. Particularly USA.
Though I wonder what would Chavez think of Khomeini writings and Ahmadinejad of Bolivar’. ;-)

  4. Ups

Did not read the post properly, scratch my last sentence. *blush*

  5. Freida,
    I do agree with you.

  6. Alireza,
    Fine!

  7. Ella
    :D :D :D

  8. I do agree with Freida..I wonder that midget wanders around the world preaching, but he is quite unaware of the real things which are responsibilities of a god damned president.
I have missed lot’s of posts over here Kamangir.

  9. Spooky Witch,
As we say in Persian “whenever you catch the fish its fresh!” [meaning it's never late]:)

  10. Hi, check this: http://www.enoughfear.org/en/about

Unfortunately, neither Iranians nor Americans have the power to stop the war if our governments decided to do it.

In addition, as I know, there are many Americans and Iranians who disagree with you. Please lets face the reality. You go to any uneducated and religious family in Iran and they will tell you that all the problems are because of Americans and that they are ready to fight with invaders. It is a fashion nowadays that everyone wants to look anti-war in the western world. However, if you get closer to the same people and dig into their believes, you will find a lot of hatred in their hearts about muslims. Westerns hate muslims and muslims hate the westerns. Pity and sad but reality!

  12. Hi Alireza
They are also many who agree!
    Check this:
    http://peoplesgeography.com/2007/01/17/iranians-and-americans-say-no-to-war/

  13. I am not sure I got your point by the word “many” but I know there are “many” who don’t even know what Internet is! By the way, those are usually the people who shoot the final bullet.

Amongst those who know the Internet, I found these sites:

    http://nukeiran.com/

    http://www.torontosun.com/News/Columnists/Coren_Michael/2006/09/02/1795183.html

    http://brentroos.blogspot.com/2006/04/its-time-to-nuke-iran.html

    http://chud.com/forums/showthread.php?t=88962

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mkXdXqHqkds

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6RKDtAgY-9o&mode=related&search=

and thousands of other pages. I either you have not been living in Iran for years or you were living somehwere in north of Tehran or you already forgot those days that we had only two TV channels with 24 hours of mullahs and war and karbala things.

Sorry but I only want us face the truth, that’s all…

  14. Alireza,
    You are funny :-O

    Ella,
Intellectual dishonesty is a trade mark of the lefties..that’s why their argument and logic does not appeal to me anymore. (it used to when I was 12-14 years old and when I was naive and immature !)

  15. Homeyra,
Thanks for the link. I had seen the web site.

  16. Freida,
I think Alireza is right. There are people who think the best idea is to nuke Iran.

  17. Alireza all I can say, is to repeat what a friend who is much more intelligent and informed than myself told once:
“Just don’t go wallowing in your recognition of their ugliness to the extent that you broadcast this label for the whole population. It has no effect because it does not address the problem.”

  18. Sorry to say but this way of thinking is exactly a self-lying. That is why we always get shocked when something unpredicted happens! because by this excuse we simply close our eyes to reality trying to prevent the dirts.

Suddenly you open your eyes and see you are living within those “ugly” people “alone” ;)

Therefore, I think there is a loooooong way for your “wise” friend to get into the place where s/he can UNDERSTAND the poor, the criminal, the hatred - if at all there is a chance for such people…

Sorry I don’t want to contradict with you. Only I would like the happy living people understand that there is another side of the ugly world and they even have no idea about it ;)

  19. Homeyra,
    Good point.

  20. [...] you think anyone might bother attacking the embassy of one of the only remaining friends of the Islamic Republic, Venezuela, as they did to the devilish British [...]
