Just a quick note; it is fantastic to watch Blood Diamond with people who have sympathy for the Islamic Republic and the Basij. Watching them say “this is horrible” when the movie shows scenes of kids being trained to “demand their rights” was amazing. When the kid points the rifle at his dad, which is exactly what happened in the Islamic Republic under very holly names, they just don’t see the similarity. I praise ideology for making people intentionally and voluntarily blind, and at the same time wholeheartedly believer.

    Something else that’s freaky is watching “The Killing Fields” right after reading or watching Animal Farm (the old,animated one).
