IR: America Behind The Recent Attacks

Kamangir | February 17, 2007 | Category Iran

Fars: An authority in the IR security produced a picture of the American ammunition confiscated from the terrorists who committed the recent attacks. The picture reportedly is taken from equipment seized in a terrorists’ safe house captured by the police. The terrorists have confessed that they have been trained by individuals who spoke English. The conversation has been carried out through translation performed by MKO members. The reason for the attacks is reported to be “because the US became very angry when Sunnis participated in 22 Bahman rallies.”

In another news, one of the individuals arrested after the first explosion was tried today. He claimed to have been a member of Jundullah for only 45 days. He expressed regret and mentioned his motive to have been “because of money”.

7.62×39Russian. I use this stuff in my SKS.

I don’t recognize the box tho. I can’t see a maker’s name. Usually around here ‘white box’ ammo is Winchester and clearly marked.

So we find .50cal sniper rifles on terrorists in Iraq that were sold to Iran by Austria, and you find American ammo on terrorists instructed by ‘English speakers’.

I’m sure the idiots involved in this game on both sides are having the time of their lives playing spy vs. spy, but I don’t find it amusing.

So the Americans find recently manufactured and clearly marked Iranian weapons inside Iraq and a week later some boxes of an ammunation type not used by the American Army pop up in Iran with a vaguely-American logo (but no actual manufacturers tag) that my 85-year old grandmother could create in 45 seconds using Word, a colour printer and some masking tape… honestly, the Soviets would have at least messed the box up a bit. Are there no graphic designers working for the Iranian Government? This is definitely one part of their propaganda machine they’ll have to work on if they want to be taken seriously by the European Union when it comes time to vote on sanctions. The French will absolutely need something with a little more pizzazz and flare to base their veto on.

That photograph is doctored. Your government is lying to you.

At Iran’s Fars News Agency, LGF readers tipped me off to a blatant Photoshop fraud in an article claiming to have discovered US weapons in Iran: Terrorists Use US-Gifted Arsenals. (Beware. The Fars News site resizes your browser window without asking, and may attempt other more sneaky things.)

TEHRAN (Fars News Agency)- Following a Saturday report about the use of US manufactured weapons in the recent terrorist operations in Iran’s southeastern province of Sistan and Balouchestan, a security official provided FNA with a photograph of the said weaponry.

These arsenals have been confiscated during a raid on the hideout of a terrorist group known as Jondollah in the provincial capital city of Zahedan on Thursday.

Obvious enough? A close look (actually, you don’t have to look that close) shows that many elements of this picture are cloned over and over. LGF reader Dar ul Harb has a Flash animation showing how it was done.

It looks like the photo was heavily photoshopped. It is obvious that the white box does not belong to the ammunition but other items seem mulitplied as well, check here:
