Private or Public, That’s the Problem!

Kamangir | February 20, 2007 | Category Iran

For some reason, the IR has accustomed to silent drills, in which the war games are played in private. So, when pictures of the new drill were published, I told to myself, well they need to prove their “Sovereignty”. However, a closer look shows that in fact there are not so many pictures available from the drill.

I found four sources which carried pictures of the event: Fars (18), Mehr (10), ISNA (12), and IRNA (6). The numbers in parentheses show the number of pictures I found in each source. Looking at the pictures, I started to find similarities which I didn’t expect to see. As the drill is carried out in 850,000 square kilometers of area, it is mathematically very hard for different photographers to end up shooting the same soldiers. Unless, the exposure is very limited, i.e. the photographers are bussed to a small area, where they are allowed to take pictures and leave the rest of the drill untouched. Why this might have happened? I have no idea…

Here are the five sets of pictures I found in different sources shot in the same place.

Iran probably doesn’t want the world to know the limits of it’s defenses.

I mean, how deep can they really be when the government willingly shows that it considers bright red dirt bikes rode tandem with a guy with using a grenade launcher on the back as a part of their high tech forces?
