The Islamic Republic, Iran’s regime, publishes fake pictures of an aerospace program (1) (2), which there is not independent proof for its existence. As an Iranian, assuming that you are not going to celebrate this “achievement”, you have two options. One, you can assume that you have not heard the news. Two, you can remain fair and impartial, i.e. you have to be honest. This, unfortunately, is very similar to “betraying your country”, if that term has any meaning at all.

Let’s think about the options. Getting silent whenever “your side” is in trouble is nothing but dishonesty, to my understanding. Supporting “your side”, independent of what it does, has no better meaning.

I think it is a right to live your life and not pay attention to politics. It is also a right to speak, and yell, when you think you have something to say. To my understanding, it is not a decent attitude to be selective.

I am just thinking aloud.

Another IR Lie (Updated)

An important update at the end of the post.

Gateway Pundit has discovered that the picture Kayhan used for showing off a successful launch of an Iranian rocket was actually taken “from a California anti-ballistic missile test that took place back in 2004″. Good work, Jim!

Update: Down to the right of the picture, it does say that the picture is decorative, in a tiny font. Thanks to Narjes for the hint.
