The Unwanted Guest and the Prophet’s Medical Doctorine

At the middle of his trip to Sudan, Ahmadinejad has planned another trip, this time to Saudi Arabia (thanks to Matthew for the link). Although, Reuters calls this “his first official trip to Saudi Arabia”, he actually attended the Third Extraordinary Session of the Islamic Summit Conference which was held in Mecca, Saudi Arabia, in December 2005. That time, after they came back, the minister of higher education had a special story to tell.

When we went for the opening ceremony, all delegates were sitting in a big hall. Then, we were told to enter the main hall. A few rushed to their seats. But, suddenly, when we stood up, the king of Saudi Arabia stood up, too. This is Allah’s blessing. It was like us and the king were opening the ceremony. We felt like we were pushed by a force from the above [he says "a force from somewhere else" which in Persian implies a holy/devil force]. Then, we went for the dinner, the king came in and greeted everyone. Everyone was standing. He came to us and asked us to sit for a moment. All the cameras were focused on us. Everyone was standing and we were sitting there chatting…All leaders came to us and asked us to talk to them, even if it was for ten minutes. They insisted for us to visit their countries…. After our speech, everyone was delighted. Some leaders came to us, which you could not imagine. They told us, “We are proud of you”….When other leaders were talking no one clapped for them. But, when we gave speech, everyone had their fists tight, as if they were saying “death to America” and also “God bless you”. The conference was totally shifted towards what the Islamic Republic had to say.

More news about that meeting in Persian (link) (link) (link). It was mentioned afterwards that an official complain was sent to the IR embassy in Saudi Arabia regarding the non-diplomatic behavior of Ahmadinejad.

The one-day conference on “Prophet’s Medical Doctrine” was opened today in Tehran. IRNA had reported earlier that in the conference, which is held by the ministry of health, the Feizyeh Seminary in Qom, and health-science universities, topics including preventing disease, cure and healing in the Islamic culture and civilization, health condition improvement, Islamic ideas for hygienic services, Islamic guidelines on sanitation and nutrition and their scientific interpretations, etc will be discussed. Deputy of the Minister of Health told IRNA that the conference will also cover health service to Muslims and non-Muslims in the Islamic government, the government’s rule in health services, Sharia support for health services, and doctor-patient interaction based on Islamic teachings, according to Quran and Hadith (the sayings of the prophet and other holly figures).
