The Islamic Hypocrisy

Kamangir | March 7, 2007 | Category Iran

I introduced my wife, Azadeh, to a Muslim friend of my friend. He moved his eyes back and forth from me to her and from her to me. A few seconds passed in silence. Then he turned his face away, without responding to my greetings, and went away with the friend of mine whose wife does wear the veil.

If there is anything that I hate about Islam and Muslims, it is the hypocrisy. I was watching CBC’s program on how the mainstream Islam derails the revisionists. The interesting part was when they talked to this man, who had all the characteristics of a fundamentalist Muslim, and he argued that the leaders of the mosques have the right to talk about whom they find not representing Islam. He shook his head and waved his hands, to prove how obvious it is that when a local newspaper publishes stuff that the mainstream Islam does not like, the Imams would talk about it in the mosque and then they would “convince” businesses to pull out their ads.

Last time I spoke with a person like that, I reminded him of what I had experienced first hand in an Islam-ruled country. He got angry and we ended up deciding to talk only about our courses and movies. I really wish the CBC reporter asked the “charming” guy why his passion for freedom was only dedicated to Canada, where immigrants have to rely on their connections to the community and thus are fantastically great for building what he loved to call the “Muslim people”.

“Scientific” Bluff

Kamangir | March 7, 2007 | Category Iran

Frankly, I think IR’s whole “nuclear energy/weaponry” program is a bluff. Read these “scientific statements” expressed by the head of the IR Nuclear Energy Institute,

…The first made-in-Iran nuclear reactor with the capacity of 360MW is under construction….We needed to dig wells more than 300m in depth and over 8m in radius, for mining Uranium. High-tech equipment was needed for every inch of the 300 meters….There are more than 800 experts in Natanz [an IR nuclear site], all of whom are in high levels. The machinery used there is very high-tech because we had to enter into the structure of the atom and everything is in micrometer scale….Salons are built in Natanz, which are of size of more than two football fields. They have been built by young Iranian scientists…Iran has reached the level in technical maturity that we do not need anyone. We are building the first Iran-made nuclear power plant…Because of all the information that I have, I emphasize that no war is going to happen. About the sanctions, they know that sanctions helped us gain this technology and become the master of the whole region…

IR and Thieves’ Fingers

Kamangir | March 7, 2007 | Category Iran

It seems that the recent finger-cutting-related incidents were part of an emerging trend. According to IRNA, the head of the Judiciary in Kermanshah Province stated “since I started my job earlier this day, my first priority has been to take decisive action [against those who disturb the public convenience] and to carry out the Sharia law”. He mentioned the last instance of his “efforts” to have been the amputation of four fingers of a thief in public. He added “after the verdict was carried out, we received appreciation letters from people.” He continued “news have poured out of the courts that, under interrogation, thieves are worried that their hand [fingers] may be cut off. We are not going to change our approach, they should stop stealing to save their hands”.
