Kamangir (Archer)
An Iranian looking at Iran as a foreigner…

Ahmadinejad! Enough is enough! (Updated II)
Kamangir | March 28, 2007 | Category Iran

The Islamic Republic aired footage of Faye Turney, the only female person among the fifteen captured British soldiers, praising the “Iranians” for their hospitality and friendliness. Ahmadinejad! You are the only person on earth who would really believe this crap! Who else would think of a British lady who has had to wear the scarf and is so sad she could start crying at any moment as someone speaking at her will. Cut the crap?
p.s. The footage is aired in Al-Alam, the Arabic IR TV station. I still should do a research on it, but if it was only aired on the Arabic channel, and not on the Persian channels, I guess that says that the message is not intended to reach Iranians.
Update: More pictures of her in Fars.
Update II: It was also aired from the Persian stations. Video to come.
Just a quick note. To my understanding, forcing someone not from Iran to wear the scarf and sit in front of a camera is like forcing an Iranian woman to wear bikinis and do the same.

As I understand it then, if the UK detains a Basiji woman, then they can force her to remove her hejab because of cultural sensitivity? I like your Bikini analogy. It’s good one.
Serendip,
I guess that makes sense. Could you imagine what the IR would do if they force a Basiji woman to appear unveiled?
Kaman: hahaha
I can say just three words: Khak Bar Saret
I see no similarity ?!
nothin!
i have seen ppl up there with da face cover even , bud i have nt seen ppl back home UNVEILED!!!!???
have ya?
is nt it ?
It’s also a violation of the Geneva Convention to put POWs up for public display.
Good going, iran. You were wise choosing UK to do this to.. No one in America would stand for it.
I hope Uk does not stand for it too. It is a clear torture and act against the human rights and should clearly be punished.
The IR have shot themselves in both feet again by showing the arrested UK Navy. The revulsion that this has been caused is entirely justfied and entirely predictable to anyone outside IR Government.
So much better to adopt the US Government approach, arrest people, tell everyone why they did it, and make them disappear somewhere dark for ages. Are the guys taken in Irbil, alive? Going to charged? In gtmo? (sorry if there has been news of them but I have seen/heard nothing)
I know the situations are not the same, so please do not hate me for raising this matter. Shouldn’t the Iranians taken in Irbil either be released or charged? Thats all? And by the way the UK Navy, all of them should be released immediately.
vince: We did stand for it for 444 days in 1979.
