Job: Protesting in the Streets

Kamangir | April 1, 2007 | Category Iran

Last August, while going through pictures of Lebanon-related protests in Tehran, I had the chance to regularly meet a very nice lady whose job seems to include chanting death-to in the streets. Today, in the protest in front of the British Embassy, the same lady showed up. I just wanted to pay tribute to her and thank her for ruining the country 1/70,000,000 of which is supposedly mine.

August 2006, in two different protests.

You have mentioned an interesting point. These faces are very familiar and always seen in such hardcore rallies!

Aaaaaah, these inscrutable orientals….. taking using parabolas, hyperbolas and dropping a hint here and hint there.
    WOW

[on the other hand "you are an idiot" is quite occidental, isn't it, or perhaps it is just an occidental translation ;-) ]

    Arash,

I have a feeling like I have also seen that old man in many other pictures…

I saw that lady on my TV this morning, front and center, and I thought oh look it is Kamangir’s good friend, again. ;)

  11. Kamangir |

    Bucket,
Yes you are right! I saw her on CBC. She is famous! :)

  12. Kamangir |

    Mani,
I am not a supporter of anyone and I understand your concern. However, I do not prefer bad over bad. :)

The Akhanid are worse than any foreigner could ever be. Mani, just forget for a moment your hatred for Americans. Think about what the mullahs have done to Iran as an Iranian not a muslim…Khomeini used to say, Nationalism and loving Iran is for pagans. We don’t love Iran, we only love Allah and the Ummah, do you think any of these mullahs care about Iran? In what way have they shown they care an iot about Iran?

    It is pretty simple:

Somebody in Defense Department’s Iran Directorate - Propaganda Branch has noticed this lady in several pictures of a Hezbollah rally in Beyrouth. He has then doctored another set of pictures of a rally happening this time in Iran (look at the third picture this is quite impossible: A lady protesting right in between bearded muslim men, it shows that the guy who did that was even not from muslim background)) and send the pictures out in the internet.

My only question is : how Kamangir, a respected PHD student, got hold of them ? Est-ce par hasard ?

  15. Kamangir |

    Hayden,
This picture is published by an official state-run news agency. :)
    Nice to meet you.

  16. Hayden |

I haven’t met you yet, but it’s nice that you actually answer the comments.

Are you planing to go back to Iran after your PHD ?

  17. Kamangir |

    Hayden,
    I am not sure.

  18. Hayden |

So why worry about Iran’s future ?

  19. Kamangir |

    Hayden,
Because my parents are there and because I’d like to be able to go back whenever I wanted.

  20. Hayden |

Your parent don’t think the same way you do about Iran for sure - unless you are part of a religious minority.

If you really worry about your country - and this applies to any person, you go there and work hard to make it a better place. That’s the way white people here in America do it. They believe in themselves but always put up with their leaders, them being from left or right, democrat or facist, they just work according to the rules. Thats how they made it US of A.

  21. Kamangir |

    Hayden,
So, it goes like this. First, you suggest a very odd conspiracy-oriented theory,

The theory is clearly wrong. However, for some reason, you think I have asked for your advice on what I should do with my life,

If you really worry about your country - and this applies to any person, you go there and work hard to make it a better place.

Well, I really should say “Nice to meet you”. :)

  22. Hayden |

That’s what I thought you only worry about yourself !

You are not asking, I am just telling you. Think a little bit.

  23. shimbalkhaan |

    Dear Hayden

What do other people do in the US?

  24. Hayden |

Mainly middle class. They live their life. The only one interested in Middle East politics are mostly pro-israel hawks, like you.

  25. shimbalkhaan |

    Dear Hayden

Is the last comment answer to my question? I meant by other people, other colors, blue, pink and black people.

  26. Hayden |

Why you meant that ? do you think we should separate the US middle class ethnically ?

  27. Kamangir |

    Hayden

You are not asking, I am just telling you. Think a little bit.

    Am I supposed to respond?

  28. shimbalkhaan |

    Dear Hayden,

    You said so in #20.

“That’s the way white people here in America do it.”

  29. Hayden |

    Kamangir

You didnt respond in the first place. But you are free to respond: it is a discussion.

  30. Hayden |

    shimbal…

It is there country. They built it from scracth. True, by mostly exterminating the native population and most of the time enslaving black and chinese. But, this is a fact: America was built on their shoulders, with their ideas of governance, with their constitution, with their love and fears. They know it themselves, and thats what I meant when I said “white people”.

Now, why do you care ?

  31. Kamangir |

    Hayden,
Let’s go step by step. You said,

    Then, I replied,

This picture is published by an official state-run news agency. :)

I am still waiting for your response. ;)

  32. shimbalkhaan |

    Dear Hayden,

I care bacause you care. It seems that you clearly described your opinion. You are right but this is a part of reality and history. Anyway, nice to discuss with you. :)

  33. Hayden |

    Shimbal…

I dont know what you want in life, but one thing I learned hard is that if you believe in what you are you might go forward and win, if you don’t, you will loose for sure. In that sens, a country resemble a person a lot.

  34. Hayden |

    Kamangir,

Refer to my previous reply to Shimbal if you desire to continue discussion.

  35. Hayden |

    Kamangir,

You have a pretty nice site though !

  36. Kamangir |

    Hayden,
Thanks indeed. However, I am still waiting for your response to comment.

  37. Hayden |

    Kamangir
    Refer to my reply #34

  38. Kamangir |

    Hayden,
    #34 refers to #33 and #33 says

I dont know what you want in life, but one thing I learned hard is that if you believe in what you are you might go forward and win, if you don’t, you will loose for sure. In that sens, a country resemble a person a lot.

How that relates to your initial argument that the pictures are manufactured, I am totally unaware of.

  39. shimbalkhaan |

    Dear Hayden

I completely and strongly agree with you. When I read your comments I don’t know why you are trying to guide me. It is not bad at all but I think you might have a wrong depiction of what I am and I believe. I am here to learn, not to show who or what is wrong or right. I’ll be glad if hear from you again.

  40. Hayden Ataune |

    Shimbal…
This is a discussion. The only way to convince others is by achieving something. Discussions are always for fun. That said:

We started by you asking about pink… people in US. I gave you my answer. Seems that you agree with it. By comparing a country (Iran, US etc…) to a person I meant that Iran should try to achieve something. It can not be a follower.

  41. Hayden Ataune |

    Kamangir,
refer to #40. It is still the same discussion. You are just using different phrases. The essence of what I said in my initial discussion wasnt about pictures being doctored. It was about believing in yourself as a country.

  42. Kamangir |

    Hayden,
You said the picture is fake and I proved it is not. I am still waiting for your response to that. How this relates to the analogy of a country and a person, I don’t know.

  43. shimbalkhaan |

    Dear Hayden,

I didn’t agree with you on what you said about US. I only said this is a part of of reality. What you said athat a country should bilieve in itself to be able to develop, is true to my understanding. When I agree there is no need to reasoning and examples.

I don’t get what the point in ” The only way to convince …” is. It is not always true and it in not the only way to convince others. and the most important question is ” who is going to convince who?”

And, at last, What is the subject we are discussing?

  44. Kamangir |

    Shimbalkhan,
Amazingly, I have the same question from Hayden, what arr we talking about?

  45. Kamangir |

    arr=are

  46. Hayden |

I guess we can go to the same old question:

    How old are you ?

  47. Hayden |

We are discussing about you. As usual.

  48. shimbalkhaan |

    Dear Hayden,

Please kindly let me know which comment is mine.

  49. Hayden |

    47 applies to you

  50. Hayden |

    This applies to you too:

I meant that, I am not trying to convince you, since in my opinion, you only convinve somebody by doing it yourself and not by reasoning. Discussions are based on reasoning but they always end-up being a competition about nothing, so I consider them, in places like that, as fun. The mind needs fun from time to time.

I’ve seen this exact same scenario over and over again in persian and arabic blog comments…

First a well meaning internet reporter (Kamangir) will show some fact that expose their government as fakers. They will then be attacked by non-thinking supporters of said regime (Hayden). Hayden even goes so far in this elaborate theory to imply that whoever did this couldn’t be froma Muslim background or they never would have put the woman between the men. Must be a Zionist conspiracy, eh Hayden?

As usual, the person (Hayden) who proposes the ridiculous conspiracy theory (that the pictures are fake - comment 14) then completely refuses to back up their position when a clear thinking individual (Kamangir) points out the FACTS that show their silly theory makes no sense (the pics came from the government source!!- comment 15).

Instead of addressing these facts, the conspiracy theorist (Hayden) then changes to personal attacks on the original reporter (Kamangir) by implying that he doesn’t really care about Iran, and that his parents muct not agree with him unless they are in some religious minority (comment 20). (Now his religous bigotry shows! What are you implying, Hayden? Are you saying he must be a Sunni? Or a Kafir?)

I’ve seen this sad scenario acted out again and again all across the internet. It is a standard pattern of those who have weak minds and must engage in wild conspiracy theories in order to deny what is plain to see in front of their own faces (that the Iranian regime is a facade that manipulates the media to make it look like they have the support of their people by staging fake protests)…

How sad. Keep up the good work, Kamangir, and don’t let morons like Hayden get you distracted. As you have seen in these comments, their silly theories don’t stand up to logic and reason and it is a waste of your time to dance the illogical circles with them in the comments. Just keep reporting the facts and ignore these morons.

Peace to you and yours, my friend, and keep up the good work.

Hayden, don’t bother trying this tactic anymore for we all see you are a fool who refuses to see the facts in front of your nose!
