Grand Ayatollah on Virginia Tech

Filed under: Iran — Kamangir @ 2:42 pm

Grand Ayatollah Makarem Shirazi, one of the topmost Shia clerics in Iran, gave his analysis of the Virginia Tech massacre (FARS).

The incident in Virginia Tech is a sign of deviation from faith in God, logic, and human emotions. There is a lesson in this event for everyone in the world. …the shooting proves how much insecure the materialist world is….If this had happened to one person in one of our universities, the Westerners would make a fuss out of it. The experts, who are on their payroll, would give analysis which the enemy likes and they would wrongfully claim that the person has been killed because of lack of freedom, poverty, tuitions, and other reasons. Now that this happens in their country, nothing is done and after a few days everything will be forgotten. If it had happened here, it would be talked about for months. This is their world! This must be enough for everyone to know whom they are dealing with. We are in an insecure world where we deal with unjust and illogical people. Muslims must be unified to be able to pursue their rights and stop others from oppressing them.

  2. For the life of me I don’t understand these people who engage in this verbal masturbation.

I mean really, who listens to them?

They just make crap up and spew it all over and expect to be taken seriously.

And this also applies to all that partisan crap talk coming out of Washington, but to a much lesser degree. Nothing beats an upset Muslim cleric for pointless non-reality based whinging.

  3. Dear Grand Ayatollah Makarem Shirazi with cheese,

Thank you for your sincere condolences. Such kind sentiment is surely indicative of a future when our two great nations may once again work together on all fronts.

    Baa goh beh shiiret,

    America (Amir-e gah)

  4. You’re right Mr. Shirazi, in your country, it wouldn’t have been a lone student gunmen killing other students, would it?

  5. The only difference is that, in the US this happened by a mentally sick person but in Iran the mullahs do it by the name of God. Not only 33 people but thousands and thousands of people just because they didn’t believe in this regime. In addition, the mourning family who lost a lovely son or doughter should pay any money that was spent for the bullets!

  7. Wow- that ayatolla simply talks garbage and ignorance. Who was it who said: “I thought him an idiot until he opened his mouth, and then I KNEW he was an idiot”? One of the benefits of living in a country with freedom of speech is that it makes it easier to tell who the idiots are. That Cho killer was clearly a mentally sick individual, and the sickness had nothing to do with his country of birth or the country where he went on his killing spree. It is interesting to note that he seems to not have come from a disfunctional family and that his older sister is a high functioning graduate of one of the most prestigious US universities. The US media IS paying a lot of attention to this, and it will be long remembered and analyzed, and not blamed on The Great Enemy or fountain of foreign evil. It may be easier to blame some external entity than to investigate the true facts, but the results of an intelligent and honest investigation are far more useful
