“A Child Begging for Her ‘Immodest’ Mom”
Kamangir | April 26, 2007 | Category Iran
This is the English translation of a post by Masih Ali Nejad. She is a reformist journalist, whom if I remember correctly was banned from entering the parliament building after her revealing stories made MPs frustrated. This post talks about a picture taken at the scene of the ungoing anti-immodesty raids by the Police.
A Child Begging for Her “Immodest” Mom
Just look at this picture, which I have copied from my dear friend’s blog. Do not look at the woman who is being questioned by the Police. Do not look at her fist and how she is pulling the police officer’s Chador [black veil] in front of the bus, which is there to carry “immodest” people. Follow the mother’s fist, to see another person who is pulling the Chador. That is a kid who is too small for this much humiliation, but the ignorance of the police officer has forced her to cry. I can even hear her cry. I feel like I am being humiliated there.

I don’t see humiliation. I see a kid who’s afraid his mom is going to be taken away from him (her?), which is far, far worse. Am I somehow misreading the image?
My heart goes out to them.
she doesn’t look immodestly dressed
A blatant use of force againt the vulnerable. Outrageous!
Yes, I do hear his cry as well.
this is so terribly sad. You can see or feel many things here. Humiliation, fear or losing, feeling so small!
At least, in this snap shot, there is no regard for child’s feeling, there is no soft hand on his head, no sensitivity toward him, he does not exist. What a nightmare for a child?
How many thousand of kids go through similar fate in Iran? just too many.
Terrible!

My blood was boiling when I first saw this picture, then I thought what should I expect from a regime that has executed teenage children and pregnant women?
Its for these reasons that I have so much contempt and hatred towards Iranain Islamic Republic apolgists who live in the West. They want to have all the privileges of living a comfortable life in the West as well as their cheap holidays in Iran. They know exactly what is going on back home yet for their own narrow self-interests they go out of their way in window dressing a regime that belongs to the dark ages.
Iran, the land of king’s, persia and poetry is now under control of some savage arab’s.
