Ham-Mihan, literally meaning compatriot, was banned from publication this morning, by the infamous Tehran prosecuting attorney, Saeed Mortazavi. Among other reasons, the newspaper might have been banned because of posting a large picture of Ayatollah Jannati decorated with the text “Their Dream [not exact translation]“. That refers to Jannati’s speech in the Friday Prayers , when he stated that a taxi driver had told him he voted for Ahmadinejad because his deceased mother told him to do so in a dream. The newspaper goes further by a piece titled “Dream Interpretation, 2007″ including sarcastic sentences such as “if a girl dreams of Macaroni new people will enter her life”. A short while ago, Kayhan, the ultra-right state-run newspaper, had blamed the opposition for pursuing power through “working with Zionists, Monarchists and even prostitutes, in their newspapers”.
