Eight years ago this day, the reputable Iranian newspaper Salam was closed down. At that time, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad was one of the four people who laid charges against the newspaper. Now, after eight years, he is the president of Iran and, despite his promises for more freedom, newspapers are still being closed down. Just finished reading “Reading Lolita in Tehran”, a great book about a group of amazing women trying to deal with intellectually inferior leaders and the draconian decisions they make. Truly a glimpse into the existence Iranians are forced to endure. One can only hope for the day when those criminal mullahs and politicians will be the ones hanging from an Iranian lamppost at the end of a rope. God bless the good people of Iran and the ordeal that has been created by completely incompetent leadership.
