In the Persian Gulf Cooperation Council (PGCC) meeting in Riyadh the Arab leaders talked about some members’ dispute with Iran regarding the three strategic islands of the Greater Tunb, the Lesser Tunb and Abu Musa, all besides the Strait of Hormoz. That was clearly condemned by Tehran. The interesting development, however, is the reaction of the state-run newspaper Kayhan with its Leader-assigned editor writing,

Bahrain’s role in this issue should be considered thoroughly. Because Bahrain has been a part of Iran, separated from the country as a result of an unlawful affair between the dead King [of Iran] and the US and the UK. Today, the main demand of the people of Bahrain is to be annexed by the Islamic mother country, Iran. Obviously, this definite right of the Iranians [of Bahrain], which is a province separated from Iran, could not and should not be ignored.

Thanks to Matthew for correcting my mistake.
