When Cross is Censored

Andranik Teimourian’s Cross was Censored

imagesp_35349.jpgThe soccer match between Iran and Uzbekistan just finished, 0-1 for Uzbekistan. It was a headache, like all other games the national television shows, because of all the censorship. For example, when the camera rolled over “badly-dressed” women, they would cut it off and show another scene in slow mode. Actually, the only goal of this game was shown about fifteen times. Any way, we have gotten used to this type of censorship and it doesn’t hurt anymore.

What was interesting was at the minutes 38-40, when Andranik Teimourian, the Armenian player of the national team fell on the ground. While standing up, he touched his forehead and then moved his hand toward his shoulders. Suddenly, the picture was cut and the goal scene was shown again. That was how his cross was censored.

  1. Fortunately Andranik does not need them anymore, now that he is part of British league and has shown he is in fully capable to play with English players. I wish Andranik would leave the team in protest.

How fearful this regime must be .. they seem to think that the viewers will change the religion affiliation by watching Andranik cross his face!!!

  2. I am so happy that Ando did the sign of the cross. He has the right to express his religious beliefs. As for the censors they are so insecure that will censor all those who don’t believe in their dark “Islam”!
