Student Activist Executed as Gang-Member (Updated)

Meisam Lotfi (میثم لطفی) was reportedly executed for being a gang-member. He is in fact a student activist. Shahrzad News, a reputable independent website, talked to his mother, before he was executed.

meysam2.jpgmeysam11.jpgIt was 1am when they woke up with a knock on their door. The 25-year-old son tried to escape from the Police, but was shot at with 17 bullets, two of which hit his leg. He was then sentenced to execution. Before we managed to find and publish his pictures he was executed.

Meisam spent six month in the infamous Evin Prison after the July 1999 student riots. His sister was also attacked by the Police and received 40 stitches. Meisam had spent 55 days in solitary confinement after he was accused of setting tires on fire during the protests which followed the fundamentalists’ raid to the dormitory of University of Tehran.

Update: A Persian blog claims Fazel Ramezani (فاضل رمضانی) and Haajat Morad Mohammad (حاجت مراد محمدی) were among the executed men. The blog claims they were political activists.

    This is shameful. This poor lad was hanged just because of his ideas and hanged as a gang-member. The photos are horrible. This is not only police brutality, it’s just being cowards.
    Thanks for posting this. Poor Iranians. :(

    I don’t know about you, but I believe in God and that we’ll all stand before Him and be judged one day. Only He can right the wrongs that humans commit. To me it’s comforting to belief that there will be justice, if not here, then in the next life.
    The evil in this world is incomprehensible.

    I was reading the Shahnameh a couple of days ago and saw these passages. Which seemed to described Iran under the rule of Supreme Leader and his men. Here is one of the passages translated in English. The good news is that Zahak’s reign came to end but not after many of Iran’s youth were killed! Does it sound familiar?

    Here is the passage.

    So the beloved of Ahriman (the Devil), Zahak the Serpent, sat upon the throne of Iran, the kingdom of Light. And he continued to pile evil upon evil till the measure thereof was full to overflowing, and all the land cried out against him. But Zahak and his councillors, the Deevs (Evil Giants), shut ear unto this cry, and Zahak reigned thus for the space of a thousand years, and vice stalked in daylight, but virtue was hidden. And despair filled all hearts, for it was as though mankind must perish to still the appetite of those snakes sprung from Evil, for daily were two men slaughtered to satisfy their desire. Neither had Zahak mercy upon any man. And darkness was spread over the land because of his wickedness.

    Serendip, thanks. Even though the savages imposed this on us, today we Iranians (wherever we are) have the choice to return towards the teaching of our forefathers, who taught us truthfullness, honesty, courage, puruse and love of arts and sciences, respect for the land (thus Iranian love for their gardens), freedom to worship what you choose,interact and respect people of all lands (read how Cyprus the Great interact with people of other nationality) and much, much more. These qualities are the elements that made Iran the Kingdom of Light.

    Asante Sana,
    As an African Mohammedan (follower of Mohammed) who prefers that term than the broader “Muslim” used so indiscriminately nowadays, I am saddened by the insanity performed by radicals. Yes Mohammed was flawed in his teachings, but Allah remains perfect and it is up to us to each seek the truth.

    Killing for Allah makes as much sense as fornicating for chastity.

    Well done Arash for exposing this to the world. For now we are all silent wintnesses to the crimes of the Islamic Republic, but the time will come a when every Akhound and Mollah will be cleaned out of Iran, and even the rule of Islam will come to an end. The people of Iran are not the animals that the valayat e fagih have turned us into. In time we will revolt against this, in time all Arabism wil be uprooted from Iran, in time Iran will be free again.

    According to ISNA 16 (12+4) people have been executed within past 5 days and there are 17 ppl awaiting in death row whom have been sentenced to death already and executions could be carried out any minute.

    First Sharhrzad News says Meisam Lotfi (Maysam Lotfi) was executed. Later, it says that his mother visited him in jail on August 1, which is after the date he was supposedly executed!

    Apparently, Shahrzad News can’t keep simple logic straight. First it reports that this person was executed, and THEN it reports that he is alive and might be executed any time. I think Shahrzad News has a reliability problem.

    They using force tourcher, imprisment only to save them self and enjoy rule over people.
    Its duty of Turks ,Kurd,Ahwazi ,Baloch and oppressed person to stand up with arms against the cruel and brutal regime and destroy artificial Mullaz made Islamic fort.
