An Islamic Gift to a Jew

One of the methods Iranian banks use to attract customers is to give out prizes. On top of cars and cash prizes, pilgrimage is a good way to show a religion-conforming gesture while also giving out a rather smaller amount of money. After a person wins the prize, the local branches announce it by banners, to attract more locals. This banner, taken recently in Iran, is about a person who has won a trip to Karbala, Iraq. The only problem is, the name implies that the winner is either Armenian or Jewish.

Well, if he turns out to be Jewish there are still sites he may find interesting in Iraq, as long as he manages to leave the pilgrimate group for some private sightseeing. Not that Saddam left much of the 2800-old Jewish community of Iraq (few if any Jews remain, and Saddam personally ordered the destruction of Jewish structures and heritage in Iraq), but I’m sure something still remains.

Kamangir: He cannot be Muslim, that’s for sure. Right? ;)
