Kamangir | August 7, 2007 | Category Humour, Iran, Islam
Mohsen Gharaati (Persian: Øجت‌الاسلام‌ Ùˆ المسلمين Ù…Øسن قرائتي), the head of the National Prayer Organization, gave a speech yesterday, for a group of Basij members. He said “to correct the history you have to correct the girls”. He then followed “In Islam, women have a very important position” [Persian].

To correct history? Doesn’t histroy reflect the past. I wish we could correct history the Sassanians would have put more border guards so that Mr. Gharaati’s ancestors would not have enter Iran :-)
Kamangir: Well, he for sure doesn’t look at it like that! ;)

What some of the IRI officials say is so, so…………. unbelievable.
Would you look at that statement from IRI Majlis Speaker Gholam-Ali Haddad-Adel: Emergence of extremism and terrorism in the region stem from the world powers’ injustice toward the Islamic countries especially by the United States
It seems that muslim extremists and terrorists who kill other followers of Islam in the ME protest in that way against the US injustice towards Islamic countries in the region.
Kamangir: Ella, I guess this is what will happen if you assign idiots to big jobs, and I don’t mean to be offensive.
“correct” sounds more like “rewrite”, and may as well be called as what it truly is.
Erase.
In this, the man is quite correct, erasing one half of mankind from actively participating in the shaping of the world is a big stem towards instilling the belief that that is the way it always was, always is, and always will be.
To write the future, one must erase the past.
