Army Commander Threatens the Media: “Support Ahmadinejad!”

“I warn all political fractions…, and the media…. Some people have created a group which not only does not support Ahmadinejad, but also it is sometimes in line with the enemy. Everyone must know that this government is liked by the leader and the nation and the nation will support this government at all prices”, army chief of staff Firoozabadi stated. He added “A bunch of idiots in the US have started a new propaganda war. They are willing to call the holy IRGC (Islamic Republic Guards Corps) as a terrorist organization. I should tell you that this is silly” [Persian].

Hasan Abassi, who heads the Center of External Security Doctrinal Analysis of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps gave a lecture at Tehran University, in Iran, in May, 2004. He said, “I’m proud that that foreign terrorist, Lebanese Hizbullah, was raised by us. I am proud of this. If inside Iran, Mr. Khatami calls this Violence, and outside Iran it’s called terrorism - then I shall have no fear. If one can cause the infidels and God’s enemies to tremble in fear, then that is a point of pride for us. We are proud of this terrorism.”

I guess its not so silly after all.
