Tourism?
I don’t know if that’s the best place to take your family and go sightseeing.
I enjoy your posts like this, but I have to admit that I swing by your blog to get the crap scared out of me. “What’s the IR up to? Hmmm, beheadings, hangings and stonings!? OMG!” And now they want to kickstart their tourism industry with a man dancing? They can count me out.
Brando,
From the looks of the audience I doubt he is a very entertaining dancer! Let’s just hope that the brochure advertising Cirque du Aftab has a photo of all these men looking on with Soviet scowls.
That’s pretty cool of Ahmadinejad. Of course, being the President of the IR I bet he has people coming up and doing all sorts of crazy things in front of him.
Also RE: Americans - somehow I really doubt any tourism initiatives in Iran are being made in the hopes of attracting westerners. 1979 was how many years ago?
Vpendse
You mean Ahmadinejad wants to attract Saudis, Japanese or Indonesians? I do not think a lot of Pakistanis or Afghanis have that much money and some of the Afghanis recently returned from prolonged “tourist trip” in Iran. Although to tell you the truth many Chinese and Russians are already visiting Iran so it may be that many more will follow and will bring……… money, as tourism is supposed to be a profitable business.
