Does the Deceased Ayatollah Drink Water?

This picture is taken at the latest meeting of the Assembly of Experts. The framed picture belongs to the deceased former head of the AoE, Ayatollah Meshkini. In this meeting, Ayatollah Rafsanjani, Ahmadinejad’s main opponent, was elected as the head of the AoE, by the its members. The Ayatollah in shock is Jannati, Ahmadinejad’s mentor. The bottle of water in front of the picture is what many have found “questionable” [Persian].

metaphorically shows respect. it could be interpretated as a sense of humor if it was not iran ?

is this a sense of humor? is this just public service, as we have in the west and the result of what we should do in certain circumstances. budhists leave food at the feet of budda, why should the ayotollah not have water at least.

by the way, if you look closely, the ayotollah has control of all the cups !
