Islamic Republic confesses: Chaos in Iraq is Good for us
Kamangir | September 10, 2007 | Category Iran, Islamic Republic, US
The newly-assigned commander of the IRGC stated, “If the enemy succeeded in securing Iraq, they would definitely attack Iran. Fortunately, and thanks to Muslims of the region, they failed in this conspiracy.” He added “If they are not sure about their plans, that’s because of their failure in Iraq”. “The Islamic Iran has turned into a great regional power…and all world powers are anxious about the power of the Islamic Republic of Iran”, he concluded [Persian].
To conclude, and this just my idea, he is confessing that the Islamic Republic is causing chaos in Iraq to make Americans engaged and to not let them think about attacking Iran. Well, that does sound like some of the claims the US administration has been making, that Iran is supplying terrorists and so on.

p.s. The wording of the IRGC commander’s speech is a bit different in different sources. The one mentioned here is adopted from the state-run newspaper Jam-e Jam.

I agree with you, Kaman. He meant to merely emphasize the “Great Western Conquest” conspiracy, but ended up saying more than he meant to reveal. There’s a lot of Iranian equipment in Iraq now, including Austrian-made high-velocity sniper rifles that Iran bought recently.
Iran wants chaos in Iraq, as part of a concept of a “Muslim War” and gathering regional power.

Well, The U.S. is building its first permanent base on the border of Iran-Iraq.

The Islamic Republic is playing a dangerous game with the lives of millions of Iranians. Note, they keep talking about Iran is a world power”; Iran is a regional power”. These idiots are on ego-power trip without having the intelligence, the industrial base, or the economic means and resources to maintain a “power” more than a few years while the petro-dollars are flowing in.
