Ahmadinejad, the Populist

Imagine that you are the president of a country on the verge of war, mainly because of your own rhetoric. What do you have no time for at all? If you are Ahmadinejad, you have plenty of time posing for photographer as “you break your fast with orphans”. That is what Ahmadinejad did. The news sources were flooded with pictures of him feeding poor boys and girls gathered in an emotional environment, for him to carry out yet another populist show. More pictures in the photoblog.

  1. Why were these orphans fasting?

    Kamangir: Because of Ramadan.

  2. I worry that the bombastic and empty rhetoric of the Iranian regime will eventually lead to destruction of Iran and many Iranian lives. This man’s mental health should be carefully examined. He is mentally ill.

  3. I disagree. From my point of view, Ahmadinejad seems like an honestly true Iranian person working for the Iranian people. He didn’t put the Islamic Republic and all it’s “intracacies” in place – but he had to work with them. Let’s praise the man for what he’s done rather than chastise him for what he hasn’t.

He’s not long for this world. Read the next to last paragraph. It’s coming soon. Intelligence agencies are working overtime, everyones on the payroll, it’s impossible to keep secrets, just ask Syria.

  6. In my experience those leaders who have always gone out of their way to display their spartan way of life and claimed unrealistic promises to the masses, have brought more misery and poverty for their people than ever.

This picture of Ahmadinejad breaking the fast, and eating on the floor with other worshippers may impress some idiots in the West, but it will not solve the 25% unemployment or spiralling inflation, the unpaid wages of factory workers, the below poverty conditions of the teachers, ….

  7. That’s right, Kamangir – Presidents who bring their countries to the brink of war never have time for populism. This really is a first. Surely this man is inventing the art of… Politics, maybe?

  8. I think the pic of him talking on the cell phone is the best. Which president would talk on the phone when he is supposed to be involved in a big publicity stunt. Too funny!
