This was how a guest on a TV show on the state-run Channel 3 was introducing the Israelis to the spectators when the studio experienced a blackout. Accidentally, the microphones were not lost and the crew were not fast enough, so a “politically incorrect” sentence was aired.
Moussavi (the guest): “It was the Jews [who cut the power]“, laughs.
A Technician: Silence! Silence!
When the program restarts the anchor says, “We were saying that it was the Israelis who cut the power”.
Judaism is one of the few recognized religions in the Islamic Republic constitution.

And really, anti-Israelism or anti-Zionism are often enough merely fronts for anti-Semitism. Valid criticism is one thing, but outright demonization and lies are based on hatred and fear. In this, one can quickly enough lead to the other, as Jews are the only real Zionists around. I also remember well enough that while not openly mistreated, the Jewish community of Iran is being held hostage. All remember what happened to the community leaders during the Revolution, and know what would happen to them today should anything that sounds “Zionist” be uttered by them. Many of the community try to make their way out of the country, to a place that would feel more like home…

Well, Somaye Zadeh said that she is a refugee, can not travel to iran and has not been to Iran for over 25 years. Her main claim for knowing Iran is based on the fact that she is the refugee.
Hmm, I think she knows present day Iran, particularly politics of Ahmadinejad who never ever supported any terrorists (see: Hezbullah and Hamas ) as well as any of us do ;-)
Somaye Zadeh who by the way is a studio manager at teh BBC is one of a number of propagandists for the fascist mullah regime. Some of these people have already been exposed (Kamangir you should do a piece on them) thgey include teh likes of Trita Parsi in the US and work out of front organisations like Campaign Iran, and CASMII, etc.
The mulahs know that their regime is morally and politically bankrupt so they use these fronts who act as “political refugees” or “persian nationalists” to carry out their dirty propaganda operations.
Traitors like these should be pointed out and rejected by all true Iranians.

I have just read in Rooz (english) about Shirin Ebadi asking all Iranians to protest against the war with Iran. From what Rooz wrote about her speech, she is against the government of Iran, against IRI government not complying with international treaties and law, but the same time she wants people in iran not to be killed in a war, if there is one.
This kind of position I can understand. She is not an apologist.
I wish that the people who protest against the war with Iran were like her…….acknowledging the bad things going on in Iran, asking to protest against them but at the same time explaining that they are afraid for the lives of their countrymen and for their country.

The real threat to Iran isnt any mooted invasion …. there will be no invasion … teh real threat to Iran is that teh Fascist Mullahs that have Iran their grip manage to destory what remains of the humanist sense of Iraniyat … Iranians shoudl not be duped by the propaganda being actively spread by the organs of the Islamic Republics Intelligence services.

I also think (and hope) that there will be no invasion. For two (or is it three?)years now I am hearing talks that USA will invade Iran. Usually pundits are saying that the invasion will start next week or next month. And then when invasion does not start the journalists are silent, giving no explanation. Well,…………….no, the preferred explanation is that no war is due to bastardly machinations of Mr. Bush, junior. ;-)
As for your last paragraph, I like to thank you for including me in “all iranians” sentence. I am not, but I do my tiny part in opposing human rights violations by IRI government. However, I do it in my language, I do it in…………..Polish.
Ella … perhaps I shoudl have said ALL HUMAN BEING THAT CARE FOR EACH OTHER … it would be more inclusive and to the point … the real danger to all human being everywhere are regimes like the Islamic Republic that daily violate inalienable human rights and commit crimes against the individual and society.
