He was executed recently despite the controversy surrounding the witnesses against him (Reuters).

Even if the allegations of rape were true, he wasn’t old enough to fully understand the consequences of his actions when he commited them. What happened here is a travesty - trying a child’s crimes and giving an adult’s punishment, with the obvious taint hate-driven agenda. I do not know who that young man grew up to become, but I can easily surmise that he was a better man than the people who ordered his execution.

Yes, at 13, Leo. I doubt you can understand it fully at 16 either, or the consequences of any action for that matter.
It’s easy for us adults to pass judgement without remembering how teens think. You *can* think in quite a mature manner at that age, but the vast majority don’t.
In fact, I’d say that 13 is the age where you *start* understanding the consequences, but this is by far different from full responsibility.

Roman I somewhat remember myself at 13. I am certain, I was ready to nail anything and everything that moves. I am sure thought of applying force had crossed my mind few times as well. But I knew that was wrong and I did not.
This little 13 year old boy did not bother to restrain his big desire. Not much more there is to it.
On the subject of punishment. I think it was wrong. The best punishment would’ve been to jail him so he could get dose of his own medicine.
Keep in mind, Leo, this was just me considering the worst possible extreme of the case. The fact is - all complaints against him were withdrawn, so what we’re left with here is the very strong suspicion of male-male sex, with the parents of some trying to protect their children from the authorities by saying that their kids were victims, then backing out when they realized that the matter is going to lead to someone’s death.
Except that Iran’s judicial system went on with the case even without anything in the hands of the prosecution, and without the review that some people within Iran’s judicial system were demanding. The fanatics won.
I have heard that the mullahs themselves engage in homosexual acts!

Incidentally, I just watched an Israeli movie called Buzz. The movie showed what can happen when you don’t see 13 and 14 year-olds as potential criminals, or psychopaths in need of extreme help. Suffice to say that watching a kid use a cat for target practice with a gun, manipulate his friend to bring him over to his point of view (might is right, and if I’m right then I might as well do some damage, for kicks), and then murder a cab-driver in cold blood without having any scruples whatsoever, other than mum maybe finding out… Even in fiction, that sort of thing leaves a deep impression.

8:17, It is not ye who slew them; it was Allah: when thou threwest (a handful of dust), it was not thy act, but Allah’s: in order that He might test the Believers by a gracious trial from Himself
8:60, Against them make ready your strength to the utmost of your power, including steeds of war, to strike terror into the enemies, of Allah and your enemies, and others besides, whom ye may not know, but whom Allah doth know. At the exact same time that this guy was busy having sex with female slave captives that he kidnapped through various wars, in my country (The Persian Empire) a woman named Irandokht became Emperor. This is very powerful stuff Bahman. I have been trying to figure out why some muslims fear the US so much. I have trouble understanding why muslims feel it so necessary to enforce nonsense filled rules with such absolute violence, murder and suicide. Are they not men and women? Is not what happens between me and God my own business and nobody else’s? The mullahs have a power that makes them drunk, don’t they? They seem sick with power madness and the love of that power to humiliate and degrade those who’s own personal internal power threatens theirs. The US, and Israel, pose a threat to that power because they demonstrate an existance of FREEDOM that can not exist under the mullahs, at least it seems to me. I believe the mullahs are afraid that the various muslim peoples will see that freedom and yearn to have their own freedom, and the power of the mullahs will be gone. When I read some of these things of which you speak, I am mystified. I never understood how people could march into gas chambers during the holocost, nor can I believe the videos I see of women being shot, beaten and kinapped by muslim “propriety police”. If I saw an American woman attacked like that, I’d kick somebody’s ass….or shoot them. I, undoubtedly, would not be alone. Not here. Not at any time. And, I have seen it happen a few times.
